Top Five Reasons to Wear Contact Lenses
Do you wear eye glasses? Are you on the fence about contact lenses? Look no further then, as we are going to give you five great reasons to switch over from glasses to contact lenses. Lots of people never even try contacts out because they have heard some misconceptions or exaggerations about contact lenses that scare them off. We are here to dispel those rumors and get you started on the road to contacts.
1. Fashionable - Let's face it, eye glasses don't look great on everyone. While some people can certainly pull them off (think Tiny Fey or Justin Timberlake), you may not be one of those people. Fear not though, it's not the end of the world. Wearing contact lenses will give you the improved vision you need without the clutter on your face.
2. Sunglasses! - For years I'd have to wear a hat or be uncomfortable in the sunlight thanks to my glasses. Prescription sunglasses are simply too expensive for me, so I needed another solution. I finally bought some contacts. Whenever I am going out in the sun I switch to my lenses and put my sunglasses on over them. Driving on sunny days has never been easier. This same logic can be applied to 3d glasses when you go to the movies. I hated wearing two pairs of frames at once if I wanted to enjoy a movie like Avatar.
3. Sleeping - How many times have you fallen asleep with your glasses on? Not only is it uncomfortable, but you can damage your eye glasses. Replacing or repairing your glasses can be very expensive. A lot of new contact lenses are designed for extended wear, which means you can wear them for days or weeks at a time. This is perfect for people who like to fall asleep watching television or reading a book. You will never have to wake up with glasses imprinted onto your face.
4. Sports - Growing up I always played sports, and my glasses would get in the way. Sports goggles were too expensive, so I would be forced to wear my spectacles. They would always fall off, or get sweaty and greasy. Then I would have to take a break to clean them. I used to have to wear those ugly croakies to keep them on! Contacts have solved that problem as well.
5. Rain and night time driving - I decided to combine these into one issue, although they are a bit different from one another. Whenever I go out in glasses and it's raining, I am burdened with having to wipe them off regularly. Rain drops on your lenses are very distracting and annoying. The same can be said about going into a warm house after being out in the cold. Your glasses fog up and you cannot see! Driving at night with glasses can be dangerous. Although I have the special reflective coating on my frames, I am still very uncomfortable driving at night in glasses. The headlines from opposing traffic does not work well with my glasses. Contact lenses are much better at dealing with the light.
Are you convinced yet? We aren't saying you should throw away your frames, but you should definitely give contact lenses a shot! A lot of our partners on Contact Lenser offer a money back guarantee if you are not satisfied, so you don't have anything to lose! You can buy some cheap contact lenses at first to see if they are right for you.
